Mary has been selling homes in the central Contra Costa area since 1982. During this time, she has earned a solid reputation for innovation, professionalism and personal attention to her clients. Today, Mary can acknowledge herself as co-owner of Diablo Realty, one of Contra Costa's largest, locally owned, independent real estate companies.
Mary believes in giving back to her community with a distinguished record of volunteer service. She is in her second term as an appointed member of the Board of Directors of the John Muir-Mt. Diablo Health System and is in her fourth term as an elected member and current chair of the Mt. Diablo Health Care District Board. The high point of her civic involvement each year is her participation on the Community Health Benefit Corporation Board which grants one million dollars annually to address the unmet health needs of the most vulnerable populations in central and east Contra Costa County.
Mary's concern for social issues goes back many years. She worked for George McGovern in 1972, helped to found the Contra Costa Chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus in 1973; worked as a caseworker in the office of Congressman George Miller from 1975 to 1982; and served as chair of the Contra Costa Democratic Party in 1984.
In addition to her California Broker's license, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from St. Mary's College in Moraga, a Masters Degree in Business and Public Administration, and a Certificate in Career Development both from John F. Kennedy University in Walnut Creek.
A lifelong resident of Contra Costa, she is a member of Christ The King Parish in Pleasant Hill where she is active in the Social Justice Ministry. She is also a member of The College Preparatory School Alumni Association.
Mary lives in Lafayette with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - Tess and Shannon.
